Our MISSION
With our volunteers and through our local presence, we actively contribute to strengthening communities so that no one is alone in times of greatest need. Through our assistance, we want to strengthen the self-reliance of those communities in such a way that people who live in them can help themselves and others. Based on respect and humanity. The establishment of the curacao Red Cross course took place on the 8th of August 1931. Since 1932 the board of the Red Cross of directors of the central committee in Curacao had cherished plans of establishing a transport corps. The attempt became a success in 1939 in danger of the imminent outbreak of war in Europe. After a few weeks of propaganda in the local newspaper, Dr. Hartz commenced first aid training on the 8th of August 1939 with approximately 25 prospective members. In the beginning, the task of a Red Cross corps was primarily transportation by ambulance. Gradually The task of the transport corps increased supporting the local government with humanitarian assistance to victims of calamities in times of peace and War. in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, fires, and accidents on land, in the air and on the water.

The assets of the Netherlands Red Cross
Curacao Branch was and is determined by
the willingness of its donors.
Our sources of income are among others:
-Support from companies after sending letters
requesting a financial contribution.
-The annual collection in May, with assistance
from members of the corps.
-This is affected by means of the subscription
list and collecting boxes.
-Monthly donations
-Income derived from giving first Aid courses.
